CANCELLING AN EMPLOYEE’S INSURANCE

When you want to cancel an individual’s group coverage please email us with the name of the individual and the exact date you want the coverage to end. It is not enough just to list their name. We need a statement in writing indicating what date you want the insurance to cease.

Insurance companies handle payment of premium differently. Some companies do not start charging premium on a new enrollee until the month following their enrollment date. But then, when cancelling, the premium for the entire month is charged. Therefore with some companies, if possible, it is best to cancel the insurance the last day of the month and thus avoid paying an extra month’s premium.
