GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE FOR A NEW BORN
ENROLLING YOUR NEW BORN ON GROUP INSURANCE
All newborns whose parents are on the group plan must be enrolled by their parents within thirty (30) days from the date of their births to ensure coverage from birth. Newborns are not automatically covered on their parents’ group insurance. If the insurance company receives the enrollment form thirty (30) days after the date of birth, the newborn will be considered as a late enrollee, and the waiting period for pre-existing conditions would apply to the newborn.
