CERTIFICATES OF INSURANCE
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) passed by the federal government provides more protection for the insured individual. The act provides for a “Certificate of Insurance” for the insured. One of the ways to make sure that pre-existing conditions are covered with group insurance is to provide the new insurance company with a “Certificate of Insurance.”
