Usually employees prefer a deductible of $250 or $500 but when getting a group health insurance quote it is good to also get a quote for a $1000 deductible. Sometimes the quote for the $1000 deductible is so much lower than the $500 deductible that the group will elect a higher deductible. Also it is always good to have a couple of quotes for comparison sake. Insurance companies do not mind providing quotes for multiple deductibles.
