GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE EXCLUDING COVERAGE IN THE USA
GROUP COVERAGE EXCLUDING THE USA
In order to keep group health insurance rates low, some groups are considering group health insurance that excludes coverage in the USA. This may be a good way to initiate group coverage when your group is not yet ready to handle higher insurance premiums. This is certainly a good option if you live in or near a country that has good medical care, e.g. Singapore, Japan, Korea, European countries, South Africa, Brazil etc. After a period of time on such a plan, if your group is relatively healthy, it would be quite easy to switch to a group plan that would include coverage in the USA. Group rates excluding coverage in the USA can be twenty-five to thirty per cent lower than standard US rates.
