KEY "INTERNATIONAL MATERNITY INSURANCE” DECISIONS

  1. How much international maternity insurance coverage is provided? What is the dollar amount?
  2. When does international pregnancy insurance coverage begin?  Plans have 12-month waiting period.
  3. For newborns, enrollment applications for insurance coverage must be sent to the insurance company no later than 30 days after the birth date of the baby.  (If baby is born Jan. 1, insurance company must receive insurance application by Jan. 31.)  Please contact Good Neighbor Insurance prior to the birth of your child for the application.
  4. Does my newborn get automatic insurance coverage if application is submitted on time?  Or is there a possibility of my newborn being declined for coverage, or receiving a “rider/waiver” for any medical conditions evident at birth?  (Rider: An attachment to an insurance policy that alters the policy’s coverage or terms, i.e., a medical issue that will not be covered.)
  1. IMG GMMI GOLD and the IMG GMMI PLATINUM are plans that allow newborns to be automatically accepted for coverage with submission of enrollment form within 30 days from the date of birth.
  2. HTH Global Citizen and the HTH Global Navigator are plans that allow newborns to be automatically accepted for coverage with submission of enrollment form within 30 days from the date of birth.
  3. BUPA DIAMOND CARE and the BUPA COMPLETE CARE are plans that allow newborns to be automatically accepted for coverage with submission of enrollment form within 30 days from the date of birth.
  4. SC Reside Prime Worldwide plan automatically accepts newborns for coverage, but they may place riders on certain medical conditions.  However, they will still cover your newborn for all other possible future medical issues.
  5. IMG GMMI SILVER and the HCC CitizenSecure plans do not allow newborns to be automatically covered once born. Newborns must go through the underwriting process in order to be accepted for insurance coverage.
