GETTING AND CANCELING INTERNATIONAL GROUP HEALTH QUOTES

GROUP QUOTES ARE NOT FINAL UNTIL ENROLLMENT FORMS RECEIVED

Companies reserve the right to change their quotes before agreeing to insuring a group. In the “Request for Group Quote” that Good Neighbor Insurance sends out to organizations requesting a group health insurance quote there is a section that has five health questions. These questions help the insurance company know the general health of the group and provide a quote based on the information given. Sometimes when individual enrollment forms are submitted new medical conditions are discovered. The company will re-quote the group if they see any new serious medical conditions. So quotes that are provided by insurance companies are not always final!

Also never cancel one plan until it is confirmed that the new plan is effective. This is certainly true with group insurance. Remember an insurance company, at the last minute, can decide not to insure a group. Once we get the letter of confirmation that the group is accepted for coverage we are okay. But, when helping your group apply for group coverage, remind them to not cancel their insurance until there is confirmation that the group insurance is active.
