WEA Signature international medical insurance plans offer extremely valuable long term protection. The WEA Signature series provides three levels of coverage to fit a broad range of international health insurance needs. There are the three levels of coverage: Care is the economy, Select is the high level, and Elite is the top of the line option. These plans are best for families as well as individuals who reside abroad as expatriates. Many of our clients are workers and volunteers who work with NGOs, Nonprofits, businesses, relief and development, churches, humanitarian and faith-based organizations. The Signature series plans are great for health insurance overseas and international missionary insurance!
All of the WEA Signature international career health insurance plans provide coverage for essential medical benefits. Some of these benefits are medical expenses inpatient, outpatient, physicians, medical evacuation, as well as wellness for your wellbeing check-ups. As you go from one level to the next, some benefits are added and many benefit amounts increase. Having three levels of coverage to choose from is important because it allows you to choose what your coverage can entail, with keeping your budget in mind. Speaking of budgets, WEA has made these Signature Care, Select, and Elite plans provide amazing coverage at a premium worthy of investment. The Select plan is the most popular with our clients because it provides broad protection for a great premium. Let get into some of the benefits and how the coverage works. Let me go to work for you!
U.S. coverage and Networks: When you get a quote and apply online, there is the option to either include U.S. coverage or exclude U.S. coverage. This is unique because most other plans include Canada as the optional coverage along with the U.S.A. However, because Canada is always included in coverage, many Canadians have secured this coverage because they will not be traveling to the U.S. They are able to save premium and still have coverage everywhere else in the world. When you do have U.S. coverage, coinsurance will apply for medical expenses inside the U.S. Coinsurance is a sum of money that you will pay a percentage, and the insurance company will pay a percentage of. After the deductible, there is a coinsurance of $5,000. If you use a medical provider that is contracted with the insurance company, it is called an “in-network provider.” You will pay 20 percent of the coinsurance after the deductible when you use an in-network provider. The AXA network is utilized in the U.S. and internationally.
Maternity: For the WEA Signature Care and Select plans, maternity is a rider that is added as an addition to coverage. There is a 12 month waiting period before you can get pregnant. After the first year, you can access maternity benefits. One benefit you have with this is that you don’t have to pay for the maternity rider for the first year. You can simply add or remove the rider at any renewal. The Maternity rider provides up to $5,000 for normal delivery and elective C-section, and $7,500 for complications of pregnancy and emergency C-section. If you have an overall deductible of $2,500 or less, the deductible is waived for maternity expenses.
On the Elite, Maternity is included in the coverage with the same waiting period of 12 months. The difference with this maternity provision is that the expense limit is up to $50,000! This is excellent maternity coverage and often the wife is on the Elite for maternity, and the rest of the family in on the Select plan.
Adding newborn: When you have a covered birth (with the maternity coverage), you can enroll your newborn within the first 30 days following birth for automatic acceptance.
If you are considering which plan to go with, our most common recommendation is the excellent Signature Select international health and travel insurance. This is very strong health insurance overseas. One thing to consider is the medical evacuation coverage. On the Care plan, medical evacuation is limited to $50,000 which may not be adequate depending on the situation. Another thing to consider is your potential need of medical coverage in the U.S., as well as if you may need maternity benefits in the future. We are always more than happy to help you make a wise decision for you international health protection; we are honored to serve you!
