What is an indemnity benefit? An indemnity benefit may be added to your international medical insurance career plan for an added premium.
This benefit allows you the ability to have the international medical insurance company pay up to “x” USD per day for each day usually up to 5 – 10 days you are an inpatient at a hospital.

The indemnity add on rider (benefit you may add on to your insurance plan for an added annual premium) provides extra peace of mind while you are overseas and also visiting back here in the U.S.
This benefit, on the GMMI plans (as of May 2013), allow:
- For a policyholder to add the indemnity benefit rider/add on for an annual premium of USD100.
- Under this plan the benefits payable for eligible hospitalizations are USD100 per day of hospitalization up a lifetime maximum of USD25,000.
- If the policyholder they purchase a second unit the benefit would be USD200 per day of hospitalization up to a lifetime maximum of USD50,000.
