Liaison Continent international health and travel insurance is the number one plan that we recommend for people taking furloughs outside of their country of residence! Though not only is this plan excellent for furloughs, it is just as excellent for other types of international travel. The Liaison Continent international travel health insurance is best for furloughs, for international business travelers, families and individuals who are missionaries or volunteers working with NGOs, Nonprofits, humanitarian and other charitable organizations, and people taking vacations and traveling the world! From coverage for medical expenses, to coverage for a medical evacuation, there are many beneficial provisions to provide you with secure health insurance overseas. As a short term plan, you can get up to 187 days of coverage. It will only cover you outside your country of residence, or also known and referred to as your home country. Home country is defined as the country where you have your true, fixed and permanent home and principal establishment. For U.S. citizens who are expatriates this is particularly beneficial because if they travel back to the U.S. for a visit, this plan can cover then since their residence is outside the U.S. This same principal goes for anyone who is traveling outside of their home country!
The Liaison Continent international health and travel insurance is best in many situations simply because it provides thorough health insurance overseas for a low overall premium. The value of this plan is the reason it is popular for us to recommend for our clients’ protection. Let me get into some of the benefits of this great international travel health insurance:
Medical Evacuation: Medical Evacuation on the Liaison Continent insurance plan is covered up to $300,000. Medical Evacuation is so important because it will take you from the place where you are located to the nearest adequate medical facility for the appropriate care you need. This is always because there is medically necessary treatment that cannot be provided locally. Medical evacuations can cost anywhere from $27,000 to over $83,000 and we absolutely want to be sure that our clients or their families are not stuck with a huge bill like this. In order for the insurance company to pay for a medical evacuation you, or someone with you, must actually contact the company, and they will work with you and the medical personnel on the ground to arrange and pay for the medical evacuation. Evacuations are to the nearest adequate medical facility, not to take you back to your home country if that is not the best option.
Medical expense coverage: In general, the Liaison Continent international medical insurance provides coverage for new injuries and new illnesses. Pre-existing conditions are not covered on this plan unless certain policy conditions can be met. The overall Maximum Limit that you can choose for coverage is what covers medical expenses. Specific types of medical expenses are: outpatient, ICU, room and board, surgery, medication, x-ray, et cetera. There are other expenses as well as other provisions that the policy provides coverage for, but are separate from the overall Maximum Limit.
Other benefits: The other benefits provided are essential and they do have their own coverage limits. Return of Mortal Remains is covered up to $50,000, Terrorism is covered to $50,000, Local Ambulance Expense is limited to $5,000, and Accidental Death and Dismemberment is limited to $50,000. All of these as well as the other provisions have their own limits and conditions. That means when you select your policy with the Maximum Limit, many other benefits are included as well. For example, if you have a medical evacuation bill of $50,000 and a separate hospital bill of $40,000, the hospital bill would not fall under the Medical Evacuation provision. Likewise the $50,000 medical evacuation bill would not be drawn from the Maximum Limit on the policy.
The coverage is great, and the way the plan works is also great. This is why we can recommend this protection for important travel health insurance overseas, missionary insurance, and vacation international health and travel insurance!
