Patriot International Short Term Health Insurance

February 29, 2016 By : Administrator

Patriot International Short Term Health Insurance is a wonderful plan for your protection! This international health and travel insurance is best for individuals and families on vacation, for missionary insurance, for long term worker or travelers, and for volunteers of NGOs, Non-profits, and Not For Profit organizations. Overall, this is optimal coverage for short term health insurance overseas. Whether you are traveling to the African wilderness or leaving on a business trip to Tokyo, the Patriot International Short Term Health Insurance is designed to provide you peace of mind throughout your trip and even after your trip. Coverage is for as little as five days, or up to 12 months or longer.

The Patriot International Short Term Health Insurance comes in two plans: the Patriot America and the Patriot International plan. The America is for travel to America or if a non-U.S. citizen is traveling outside of their own country of citizenship. The rates are higher on the America simply because the medical expenses in America are very high. The International plan is for U.S. citizens traveling outside of America. It is one of our most popular plans, and I want to show you why. Let me get the information for you!

Coverage: This plan is designed to cover you if you for expenses from: new injuries or new illnesses, a medical evacuation, if you were to pass on, a political evacuation, and even if there is a natural disaster or if you need sports coverage. Medical expenses from a car accident or a sickness from a mosquito bite are a couple of examples. Aside from medical expenses, the other provisions of this policy have their own maximum limits. The Medical Evacuation limit is separate, so whether you obtain a $50,000 policy or a $1,000,000 the Medical Evacuation will be $500,000. There is also a Trip Interruption benefit that will reimburse you if you need to go back to your principal residence due to a death of an immediate family member or if your principal residence is substantially destroyed or was broke-in to. There is also a Common Carrier Accidental Death benefit of $50,000, if you died while traveling on a commercial common carrier. Terrorism coverage is also included, as this is a potential the company wants to offer coverage for.

Medical evacuation is covered up to $500,000 and is arranged by the insurance company through their emergency response team. A couple of our team members here went to the company and they were shown how the process works for a medical evacuation. They were definitely impressed! A medical evacuation occurs when there is a medical necessity that cannot be treated locally. This is the kind of situation where loss of life or limb is at risk. You, or someone with you, must call the company, and the company will work with the medical personnel on the ground and take you to the nearest adequate medical facility for care. They do not automatically take you to your home country, if that is not the best option. International medical evacuation insurance is essential for almost any type of international travel. Even if there is a great hospital in your destination, they may not be able to treat certain types of medical conditions. Therefore, if one of those medical conditions occurred, you would likely need a medical evacuation elsewhere. Many people who travel that already have medical insurance also contact us to secure medical evacuation.

There is a Benefit Period in this coverage that will provide up to six months of coverage for any follow up care on a covered illness or injury. The reason this is such an amazing provision is because of the length of time (six months) and because it covers even inside the U.S. So if you don’t have coverage in your home country and have a covered medical condition from traveling, you can have short term coverage for that condition.

Pre-existing Conditions: A pre-existing condition is any medical condition that existed in the past and prior to the effective date of coverage. Coverage for a pre-existing condition is normally excluded on international health and travel insurance, however, there may be limited coverage for a Sudden and Unexpected Recurrence of a Pre-existing Condition. This benefit is only available for U.S. citizens on the Patriot International. If you have a U.S. primary health insurance plan that is active, you are covered on this benefit up to the maximum limit. If you do not have primary insurance, you are limited to $20,000. Medical evacuation on account of this is limited to $25,000. We have other excellent options available if you or someone else needs coverage for pre-existing conditions. If you obtain the Patriot America Plus for non-U.S. citizens, there is cover for an Acute Onset of a Pre-existing condition. If you need coverage for pre-existing conditions, we have other options as well.

Optional riders: There are optional riders that you can add to the Patriot International plan. The Sports rider will cover many sports up to $50,000 up to age 49, and the rider is only up to age 65. Please note that not all sports are covered including professional sports. The Evacuation Plus rider is for non-life threatening and natural disaster evacuations, and it has its own limits on these provisions. For every five months of coverage you can add one month of End of Trip Home Country Coverage. This is basically a supplemental benefit if you need a month or two of coverage back in your home country when you return. Lastly, you can also elect to increase the Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit up to $400,000.

The Patriot International and America coverage is some of the best in the world! It is extremely well-rounded and provides the protection that we want our clients to have as international health insurance overseas. The application is all online, about ten minutes, and the confirmation is sent electronically. It is easy, quick, and dependable for your security.
