Killarney National Park is a national park located in the rocky hills

September 12, 2016 By : Allison

Killarney National Park is a national park located in the rocky hills near the lakes of Killarney in County Kerry. If you are planning to take the Ring of Kerry tour while in Ireland, the park is a part of it. There are many beautiful waterfalls. The most famous is Torc Waterfall, because of its different levels. The waterfall is about 70 feet tall and flows into the Owengarriff River which divides two hills in Killarney.

Besides the impressive waterfall and river, there is also lots of green grassland. The middle grassland has many beautiful big trees surrounded by colorful flowers. It is suitable place to relax while enjoying the view of the lake and mountains there. The grassland is used by local residents for their cattle and sheep. If you are lucky, you might see deer feeding!

Wonderful Killarney is unquestioned, and we know that the Irish are famous for their medieval houses and castles. In Killarney there is an ancient castle located on the river bank. If you explore the river by boat, you will find it. There is a large tree in the middle of the castle and you can see ducks swimming in a river near it. It is a really beautiful and captivating sight. As far as the eye can see are green grasslands and rocky hills.

When the summer and autumn come, the grass turns yellow then golden, leaves fall, and the sun shines brightly. This scene is just as beautiful as in the spring time. There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of Killarney national park, like biking, boating, horseback riding, carriage rides, and walking. For you who want to visit Killarney, use sneakers or shoes which are comfortable for exploring. We highly recommend taking a holiday to Killarney National Park whether alone or with friends and family.
