This is travel gear / travel bag video by Mark Sequeira, Marketing Director at Good Neighbor Insurance. This is actually only part one of two, about the Greenroom136’s Junkmonkey (Heretic) Messenger bag, in a custom Wildcard special edition.
Being a “Wildcard” simply means that it is has customizable options and custom user-selected colors for an overall custom-made travel messenger bag. The Greenroom136 tag shows some of the features of the Junkmonkey Heretic Messenger Wildcard bag. This arrived safely in great packaging, from Malaysia, wrapped in plastic with silica packets, which shows the care that Greenroom136 takes to ensure you are getting a good quality product. It is also similar to how we work: Good Neighbor Insurance works hard to ensure the best, most cost effective international travel health insurance in the world!
One of the great signature features on this bag, and most other Greenroom136 bags, is that extra flap of waterproof fabric on the inside pocket. This “sleeve” folds over to protect your stuff from the elements or from falling out of your bag when traveling or biking. There is also protection from rain or snow getting in, as the flap sleeve folds over when the lid is shut. As mentioned, this provides the assurance that nothing will be falling out from the top because the sleeve is folded over to keep it all in, even when the bag is on your back and hanging at an angle. The signature flap keeps out moisture, mud, and other things that could endanger whatever you have in your Junkmonkey Heretic Messenger Wildcard bag.
One of the custom features on this bag is the silent velcro pulls, which cover the velcro on the bag’s messenger flap, so you can use just the buckles to keep it shut. Sometimes you don’t want to hear that velcro ripping sound on the material, and then you can just use the buckles. The velcro is still available under the covers, and is also very heavy duty. With these covers, you can choose where to place them to expose as much velcro as you want to have just that amount grab to the inside of the bag’s cover lid.
There is also a trick pocket on the same panel as the attached buckles. With this trick pocket, you can grab keys, journal, phone, passport, wallet, or other important or fun things without having to unbuckle and open the cover lid to your entire bag. There is a nice deep pocket in the middle front of the bag, along with two water bottle pockets on each side’s corners which could hold a power cord or anything else other than water bottles. The material that they made the bags with is highly water resistant. Greenroom136 has made YouTube videos where they filled entire bags up with water and hardly any leaked out (although we wouldn’t recommend using your messenger bag as an aquarium!). The laptop pouch area actually has a soft corduroy on the inside to resist scratches. In the main bag area, there is an organizer area with two narrow pen pockets, and two wider pockets for things like pens and markers and glow sticks. These are attached to a wall zipper pocket, where you can place stuff to keep it from getting scratched or bent.
(To be continued on part two here…) Find out why we recommend the Greenroom136 Messenger bag for your travel gear shopping list.Out of twenty+ messenger bags by Timbuk2 and more, there are only two we consider carrying on or off the plane – And Greenroom136 makes one of them! Greenroom136 also makes a slightly smaller Bootstrap which also features side grab handles, making it hard to decide which bag to buy or customize! Which should you buy?
