The Greenroom136 JunkMonkey Messenger Bag Travel Gear Review – Part 2
To pick up where we left off, there is an included key ring attachment point and key ring on the inside of the main bag pocket. This key ring has a useful gate clip with which you can detach from the bag to use your keys as needed and not lose them during trips. A really nice heavy duty grab handle is attached to the top back of this Wildcard Junkmonkey Messenger bag. The handle provides a strategic place to carry the bag. It is sewn slightly snug on the back of the bag so it is out of the way from the opening and closing of the cover lid of the bag. Furthermore, this handle has a removable padding that you can take off to wash. It is thick (about a quarter inch) and heavy duty padding so that it can do its job well. In addition to its usefulness, it also matches the custom color of your bag!
The back of this bag, which will be resting on your back or hip when it is being worn, has a nice layout. The fabric is wick away material designed to keep you cool and not get all sweaty. It is highly padded with dense foam padding about a quarter inch thick.
When you talk about travel backpacks and various messenger or commuter bags, having secret pockets and organizational pockets that are useful is one of the most important features. The JunkMonkey Messenger bag is almost perfect in its selection and placement of pockets and organizational features for commuters and business travelers. On the back of the bag which rests against your body when being worn, which I just wrote about above, there is an optional secret zipper pocket. It is a rather large pocket, as big as the foam padded area. This is extremely effective for putting things in there that are high value when traveling, or that you may need quick access to. A great example of how this could be used is when you take out a wallet to pay for a coffee, or when you take out your passport at the airport. The rest of your bag can remain on your shoulder, and it is pretty discreet. Even more so, you can use this secret pocket specifically for hiding things, and use a different pocket for accessibility. In order to have quick access to important things such as your phone, keys, or passport, you can use the front hidden panel pocket with a zipper (see part one here).
This is a single strap messenger bag which you can wear on your shoulder snugged up tight vertically or cross carry depending on the strap you select (You have two options). An extremely useful feature is that the strap is ambidextrous. You can change the strap direction if you are left or right handed, if you are more comfortable on one side or the other, or if you just like to change things up sometimes. It is a very heavy duty belt, making it also one of the most comfortable bags in the world!
