I was caught off guard recently when I suggested that one of the group plans we offer provided wellness check-up benefits when it did not. All group plans are a bit different. We tend to study the “Schedule of Benefits” very closely and that is good. But we also need to study the “Exclusion” page carefully. Remember the old insurance adage, “The Large Print Giveth and the Small Print Taketh Away.” It is interesting to note that in most insurance brochures the “Exclusion” page is listed in very small print. Is that just to save space or are they hoping we will pass over that information? When studying a group health insurance brochure always find the “Exclusion” page and read that section carefully. This will help you make a wise decision about group health coverage. CENSUS, OVERSEAS GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE
