International group insurance quote

Getting an international group insurance quote

The first step in getting an international health insurance quote, and lowering your premium, is to simply introduce yourself. We can help you get competitive quotes on your group insurance, or answer your questions regarding insuring, or partially self-funding, your health insurance whether your group is from 2 to 2,000 members overseas.

You can also fill in a “Request for Group Quote” and “Census” of your company’s staff to speed things up. There’s no obligation and we’ll send you a free actionable analysis for your organization. (These two forms can be downloaded from this page in .doc and .xls format)

Once we receive this information we will want to talk with you about your specific needs and work before we approach multiple group health insurance carriers to get an international health insurance quote based on the needs of your organization. Then, we’ll send you an actionable analysis that compares these specific benefits and options to help show you where you can save money on future premiums.

This is the starting point as we further tailor the various plans/and tweak benefits to meet your organization’s exact needs.

10-SECOND INTRODUCTION

Click this link and let us know what you’re interested in. You can also help by telling us the number of employees/overseas staff you want to insure and your renewal date, but those are optional.

THE “REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL” FORM

This form asks for your primary point of contact, deductibles requested, maximum amounts of coverage,…and also information of Any major medical concerns in the group that an insurer would inquire about such as cancer, heart problems, pregnancies. If you have questions regarding the amount of disclosure, a quick call to our group department should help you know what to fill in and what can be left out.

THE “CENSUS” FORM

The Census form asks for your employees’ names, age, employment dates and assignment country as well as country of citizenship. We have made this as easy as possible using the form below. The insurance carrier also needs to know a list of dependents and their ages. This is important because group insurance always considers the average age of the entire group, including dependent children. Also, the assignment country is important because some carriers do not provide group coverage in certain countries due to hostilities or instability. That is one reason Good Neighbor Insurance has multiple carriers, to provide coverage regardless of group or location.

It is important that ALL EMPLOYEES (Full and Part-time) be listed on the census form, not just the ones that are requesting group insurance. This doesn’t mean that someone who has insurance through another source, e.g., Medicare, will be required to sign up for this plan. But the insurance companies do want to know the total percentage participating.

What to expect

  1. It is very important to have a consensus from the full field staff. Even if they are not in full agreement, getting you an actionable analysis can be difficult without a complete census (see #2). All insurance companies require that 80 percent of the field staff/full-time workers apply for coverage, but it is best to insist that everyone apply, even if you realize that due to Medicare or a staff member on a spouse’s insurance plan, we will be asking for exceptions to this rule. In general, if you cannot get an 80 percent participation, most companies will not accept a group for coverage.
  2. You need to fill out a “Census” and “Request for Group Quote.” It is important to give as much detail as possible. Once this “Request for Group Quote” is sent back to us, we will approach several companies to get quotes. We usually need to wait seven to ten working days to get all of the quotes, although some will come in within two or three days. The quote is based on the average age of the group and the group’s general medical condition.
  3. Once the quotes are in, your leadership team will need to decide what company and what international health insurance coverage is best for you. We are happy to answer any questions you have regarding the customized options we present. We will also negotiate together to make sure the benefit package meets your staff’s needs and at the best price. Please call us toll-free at 866-636-9100.
