OUR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INSURANCE PLANS MEET AND EXCEED F-1 VISA REQUIREMENTS
Sponsors require that their participants (and any dependents entering the United States as holders of a J-2 visa) have insurance in effect during the period of time they are in the sponsor’s program. An overseas student insurance policy secured to meet the benefits requirements must be underwritten by an insurance corporation with an A.M. Best rating of “A-” or above, an Insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of “A-I” or above, a Standard and Poor’s Claims Paying Ability rating of “A-” or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above.
All of our policies meet or exceed these requirements.
WHY STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE COSTS LESS
- Many student health centers provide discounts if care is provided on campus.
- Since college is not a life-long pursuit (usually) student insurance plans will be lower in premium than traditional health plans since actuaries realize that the longer a person stays enrolled in a particular health insurance pool, the more health care he or she will require.
- College students are usually younger and typically healthier than the general population which results in reduced risk for the insurer which allows for lower premiums from the student insurance company.
