Our international student insurance plans are affordable and from highly-rated carriers. They protect you and your family from financial ruin in case of a medical emergency away from home. Medical care is very expensive, but we offer high levels of coverage for as little as $1.00 USD a day. Whether you are an international student studying in the USA or a U.S. student studying overseas, you need health insurance for students studying abroad to help keep you safe.

We have been keeping students safe for over 21 years.

Don’t let a life-changing experience turn into a disastrous one that results in either crushing debt for your family, an early trip home, or life-long failure and regret.

We want to make your experience abroad as painless and as smooth as possible. The U.S. State Department recommends insurance to protect you against medical emergencies. Good Neighbor Insurance is recognized by the U.S. State Department as a trusted source of international health insurance.

OUR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT INSURANCE PLANS MEET AND EXCEED F-1 VISA REQUIREMENTS

Sponsors require that their participants (and any dependents entering the United States as holders of a J-2 visa) have insurance in effect during the period of time they are in the sponsor’s program. An overseas student insurance policy secured to meet the benefits requirements must be underwritten by an insurance corporation with an A.M. Best rating of “A-” or above, an Insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of “A-I” or above, a Standard and Poor’s Claims Paying Ability rating of “A-” or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above.

All of our policies meet or exceed these requirements.

WHY STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE COSTS LESS

  • Many student health centers provide discounts if care is provided on campus.
  • Since college is not a life-long pursuit (usually) student insurance plans will be lower in premium than traditional health plans since actuaries realize that the longer a person stays enrolled in a particular health insurance pool, the more health care he or she will require.
  • College students are usually younger and typically healthier than the general population which results in reduced risk for the insurer which allows for lower premiums from the student insurance company.
