New Globehopper travel insurance for those over 65

Couple with travel insurance for those over 65 standing on bridge with big ben in the background

Globe Hopper travel insurance for those over 65 (with no maximum age limit)

Good Neighbor Insurance has always had some of the best travel insurance plans for seniors. Now we are happy to announce a new plan from IMG: Globe Hopper travel insurance for those over 65 including a unique “NON-MEDICAL EMERGENCY EVACUATION option that we think is especially comforting to seniors, and those who might want a little more reassurance of protection.

Non-Emergency Medical Evacuation benefit:

With our other travel plans, Emergency Medical Evacuation dictates that loss of life or limb must be eminent if not treated within 24 hours.
With this Non-emergency medical evacuation benefit, the medical condition doesn’t need to rise to that extreme.

  • The insured person must be hospitalized at a location more than 150 miles from the home country
  • Medically necessary treatment cannot be provided locally
  • Medical Evacuation must be recommended by the attending physician. (article continues after image)

About the non-medical emergency benefit for travel insurance for those over 65

Higher Medical Benefit Amounts:

IMG developed this plan to bridge the gap left by Medicare plans that do not cover seniors when they leave the U.S. and popular plans like their IMG Patriot International and Patriot America. Those plans only allow someone age 70-70 to purchase a $50,000 maximum and someone 80+ can purchase a $10,000 maximum benefit.

IMG Globe Hopper allows for

  • Medical Coverage up to $1,000,000 available to age 80
  • Limits of $50,000 and $100,000 for 80+ (no age limit)

Globe Hopper is only available to those currently on Medicare A, B, and either Supplement or Advantage:

Globe Hopper was designed for (and is only available to) those U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who are 65 years of age or older who are actively enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B and enrolled in a Medigap Plan/Supplement or Medicare Advantage Plan.

A maximum benefit of $50,000 or $100,000 is available for purchase regardless of age which makes it attractive for many travelers over 80.

Can we help?

As always, if you have any questions about which plan features the best travel insurance for those over 65 and which plan best fits your needs and budget, please don’t hesitate to call (480) 813-9100 or email us at [email protected]. We’d be happy to help!

How Much Travel Insurance Do I Really Need?

October 16, 2023

Clicking the “buy insurance” button when buying an online ticket most likely will offer only very basic coverage. This may be fine if your trip doesn’t cost much and if your itinerary is not a complicated one. But if you have multiple stops over a longer period of time with expensive hotel reservations, you may want to consider Trip Cancellation insurance.
