Extending your trip?

  • Whether your international travel is extended by a bizarre transportation snafu, or a side trip to a bazaar, additional International Freedom days can be added to the end of your trip by simply logging into your account, selecting “Top Up”, and entering your new return date!

When does coverage begin and end?

  • Once your PointComfort account is established, it will remain active for 12 months. When you are ready to travel, just register your trip online.
  • Coverage begins and ends as follows:

Your International Freedom Effective Date is the later of:

a) The Effective Date indicated on your Certificate; or

b) The moment you depart your home country.

Your International Freedom coverage ends on the earlier of the following dates:

a) The moment you arrive in your home country; or

b) 11:59 pm LST on the Termination Date indicated on your Certificate.

Conditions on this group travel health insurance plan

  • Coverage is secondary to any other coverage.
  • Coverage and benefits are for medically necessary, usual, reasonable and customary charges only.
  • Charges must be incurred during a Certificate Period or Benefit Period.
  • Charges must be presented to PCU for payment within 90 days from the date the charge was incurred.

Who is eligible?

  • Available to U.S. Citizens traveling outside the USA, with coverage for brief returns to the U.S.
  • Must be at least 14 days old.
  • If 80+ years of age, the policy maximum is reduced to $10,000.
