Petersen Health (Bridge) Plan

Petersen Health (Bridge) Plan

A short-term health plan for seniors in the U.S.A.

Why we like it:

It’s a SHORT TERM BRIDGE HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN. FOR NON-U.S. CITIZENS AGED 65+ IMMIGRATING TO THE U.S. or U.S. RESIDENTS needing a short-term health insurance option.

The Petersen Health Insurance plan is for seniors age 65 and older, waiting to enroll in Medicare A and/or B. Or non-U.S. citizens immigrating to the USA and not able to initially get on Medicare or health coverage in the USA. We like that you may purchase this policy if you have a Green Card, or if you are a Permanent Resident of the U.S. Also that you can purchase it for a month or for up to 3 months and can renew, reapply over and over up to age 95 based on your needs.

We also like that it is not only affordable but that it’s a “no-network” plan. Meaning YOU choose any provider – any hospital you wish to see – not a PPO or HMO plan.

Good for:

  • For residents of 32 states and immigrants to the USA aged 60-95
  • A “bridge” plan for those needing short term USA health insurance
  • After 3 months you can reapply for additional 3 month terms, up to age 95
  • Choose your own hospitals and doctors

How it works

The Petersen Health Insurance Plan is a major medical expense insurance plan intended for persons aged 60-95 who are awaiting acceptance as a participant in the U.S. Medicare System. Foreign Nationals are usually eligible to purchase Medicare Parts A & B five years after becoming U.S. Residents.

While awaiting enrollment in Medicare, they may apply for coverage through The Bridge Health Insurance Plan.
The Bridge Plan reimburses medically necessary expenses incurred.

Deductible
(All eligible expenses are subject to the deductible)
Choice of $1,000, $1,500, $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000 per policy period.

Coinsurance
After the deductible, the plan pays 80% of the next $10,000 of eligible medical expenses.
Thereafter once the deductible and coinsurance have been satisfied, 100% of eligible expenses are paid on the basis of usual, customary and reasonable charges, up to the policy maximum benefit of:
• $250,000 for ages 60-74

• $100,000 for ages 75-79

• $50,000 for ages 80-89

• $25,000 for ages 90-95
