Group travel insurance for Seniors
Good Neighbor Insurance (https://www.gninsurance.com) brokerage firm, founded in 1997, provides global group travel insurance for seniors.
Group travel insurance provides added global travel insurance benefits for those over 65. For those over 65 years old, our global group travel insurance provides global medical coverage, emergency medical evacuation coverage, repatriation, and multiple deductible options along with a variety of other international travel insurance benefits.
Our senior group travel insurance also provides benefits when you travel to high-risk countries. Here are some of the frequent questions from our clients.
Question: Hi Doug. We are planning a trip to Israel for 20 members of our organization. The majority of the travelers are over the age of 65. Do we need to get a special plan to cover our senior travelers?
Answer: Hi Ingrid, great question! Although a person age 65 would be eligible for most travel medical plans, certain factors will need to be considered for your coverage. Some plans will have limited or no coverage for pre-existing conditions, or have lesser benefits for those over 65, Ingrid. Also, medical maximum limits may be lower for those over 65. You will want to choose an international group travel insurance that cover every team member equally, when possible.
Question: Doug, what if most of the travelers in our group have Medicare in the U.S.? Would their Medicare cover while outside of the States?
Answer: In most situations, Medicare will not cover medical costs while traveling internationally, especially when it comes to emergency medical evacuation benefits, Logan. If the traveler has a Medigap plan with international coverage, these plans typically have a high deductible, a lower medical maximum coverage, and will not cover an emergency medical evacuation.
Question: What about the travelers that are on maintenance medications, Doug? Do we need to be worried about pre-existing conditions?
Answer: Yes, Stella. Even travelers under the age of 65 will want to make sure that their global travel medical insurance will cover the sudden onset of a pre-existing condition. But it is imperative that those over the age of 65 have the correct plan. Some travel medical plans do not cover pre-existing conditions for senior aged travelers. More importantly, Stella, with limited or no coverage for a pre-existing condition, these plans offer no coverage for medical evacuation for a pre-existing condition.
Question: One of the travelers going on our trip is 95 years old, Doug. Is there a team travel medical insurance that will cover her?
Answer: Benito, a person over the age of 95 may need an individual travel medical insurance. Although coverage may be limited for someone of her age, we can still find an international travel insurance that will cover her.
