Top 10 5-Star Hotels in Indonesia Starting at Under $100

January 8, 2023 By : Web Administrator

We all enjoy comfortable living and staying in nice places when we travel.

The problem is, it’s so expensive. Which means we don’t get to do it very often, if ever.

What if there was a way to stay in luxurious places without breaking the bank? The good news is, there is! If you’ve always wanted to stay in a 5-star hotel but never had the opportunity, here’s your chance!

Indonesia is home to hundreds of nice hotels, villas, and resorts. Some are incredibly expensive, but others are very affordable.

If you do your research, you will find that there are several luxurious hotels that won’t cost you hundreds of dollars each night. In this article, we’ll share with you what we think are 10 of the best 5-star hotels in all of Indonesia that start under $100 per night.

A Little About Indonesia

When you think of vacationing to Indonesia, Bali is usually the first place that comes to mind. But there are several other beautiful places to see within the country. Indonesia consists of approximately 6,000 inhabited islands, 700 languages, and many unique foods.

Out of the 10 5-star hotels listed below, five are located in Bali while the other five are found in other parts of Indonesia. We’ll explain briefly about each place below.

One note about the prices is that they will be higher during peak travel season, which is typically March through October and then around Christmas. A good way to save money while traveling is to travel in the offseason as much as possible.

Let’s start with the hotels in Bali first.

Best 5-Star Hotels in Bali, Indonesia

Bali is not a large island (smaller than the state of Connecticut) but has become the tourist capital for Indonesia. On this island alone, there are hundreds of nice hotels and resorts. Most of them are in the southern part of the island, towards Denpasar. But there are also several in the Ubud region, which is central Bali.

Some of the nicest resorts may cost you more than $1,000 per night! However, you don’t need to spend that much to stay in a really nice place. Here are five of the best 5-star hotels for under $100 on Bali.

1. Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel

There are many reasons to like the Discovery Kartika Plaza hotel. First, it’s in a great location. It’s only two kilometers from the airport and one of the most popular beaches in Bali: Kuta Beach.

This nice hotel is located between Denpasar and Kuta, which provides easy access to most of the southern part of the island. It’s also near many shops and tourist attractions, so you can be sure to get some souvenirs before returning home.

The Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel offers three different types of rooms, including rooms with a view of the ocean. They also offer several types of suites and a two-bedroom beachfront villa. The rooms are very nice, including the bathrooms.

The landscape and overall architecture of the hotel is beautiful. For other amenities, this hotel offers several restaurants and bars, a spa, a fitness center, kids club, and sports. These sports include tennis, basketball, squash, volleyball, and table tennis. There are also multiple swimming pools on the campus, including one really large pool.

There are plenty of good food options and the staff are super friendly. The Pond Restaurant currently hosts traditional dances twice a week, which will give you a good taste of some of the local culture. They have an amazing breakfast buffet! This place will not disappoint!

2. Bali Dynasty Resort

The Bali Dynasty Resort is just one minute away from the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel. As mentioned above, this is a very convenient location in terms of proximity to the airport, several beaches, shops, and nightlife.

This hotel is packed with amenities; enough to keep you occupied for several days. There are six restaurants, five bars, and four swimming pools. Other amenities include a luxury spa, kid’s playground, beach corner, kid’s club, gym, and more!

This is a very family-friendly resort. One of the pools is a kids-only pool with a giant waterslide and a water fun zone. There is a playground and various activities for kids scheduled throughout the day, including yoga, art, bingo, and more. This resort also has large rooms to accommodate families, and kids under 12 can eat free in one of the restaurants.

This resort is not just for families but can be a great option for couples as well. They offer a wedding package for people wanting to get married. And a honeymoon package for newlyweds. They also have a good size gym and luxurious spa to rejuvenate.

The Bali Dynasty Resort has many different types of rooms to choose from, including suites. They also provide convenient e-check in. We highly recommend families stay here!

3. SereS Springs Resort and Spa

The next resort takes us a little further north on Bali. North of Denpasar and on the south side of Ubud is a resort called the SereS Springs Resort and Spa. This resort is found in a slightly more remote area of the island.

If you like luxury but also want more peace and quiet, this is a great choice. You will get a more authentic Indonesian experience. However, you’re still not far from waterfalls, temples, a monkey forest, and more unique places to see.

As soon as you walk in, you’ll be captivated by the elegant décor. You will also be greeted by incredibly welcoming staff.

The rooms at the SereS Springs Resort really help you refresh. It’s not like a traditional resort with one large building. There are both villas and suites, with the villas in separate buildings. The villas each come with their own private pool, and there are two-story villas if you want more room.

The suites are just as luxurious and relaxing. The best part is the views of the beautiful rice paddies from the balconies. It’s incredibly refreshing.

There are multiple dining options, including some Italian food. There is also a bar with an assortment of drinks and 24-hour room service.

Other amenities include yoga, a wellness spa, 24-hour fitness center, pool, weddings, and kid’s club. We can’t recommend this place enough!

4. Tanadewa Resort and Spa

Just one kilometer to the south is another amazing lodging experience called Tanadewa. This means you will still have a quiet, relaxing experience while being close to the many great tourist destinations mentioned above.

Tanadewa is the perfect mixture of traditional Balinese architecture combined with luxury. The views are amazing, and there is a very peaceful vibe throughout the resort. Not to mention, the service is incredible.

Tanadewa prides itself in being the ultimate romantic getaway. They offer wedding packages and a honeymoon package that includes things like pottery classes, cooking classes, and a private dinner.

For room choices, you have three choices of suites and a villa. The villa includes your own private pool. The suites are very spacious and are sure to make you feel at home.

As with several other resorts, Tanadewa includes multiple dining options, yoga, a pool, state-of-the-art gym, and wellness spa. One thing that sets this resort apart is that they also have a library where you can enjoy reading your favorite books!

Lastly, the breakfast and other food is outstanding! You are sure to leave this place feeling refreshed and with many amazing memories!

5. Arkamara Resort

Head north a few kilometers, and you will find the last amazing 5-star hotel we recommend in Bali. The Arkamara Resort is still in the Ubud area, not far from the monkey forest and Ubud Palace.

Similar to the two resorts above, this feels tucked away in the jungle even though you aren’t far from the rest of the city. You feel secluded, which allows you to rejuvenate and get away.

The grounds are stunningly beautiful. If you stay in a room on the second or third floor, you’ll get a breathtaking view from your balcony.

There are several types of suites and villas to choose from in terms of rooms. All the suites are very spacious and luxurious. The décor is very Balinese and beautiful. Each of the villas includes your own private pool and kitchenette and has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay.

There are many great amenities, including a spa, restaurant, rooftop pavilion, bar, and pool. The pool is an infinity pool that has unique architecture and allows you to see the rainforest.

The Arkamara Resort offers several enjoyable activities including yoga, cycling tours, cooking classes, and learning how to make a traditional Hindu offering. If you’re staying in a villa, they also have what’s called the floating breakfast. You can relax in your pool while indulging in delicious food.

Between the amazing staff, rooms, and amenities, you’re sure to want to come back as soon as possible!

Best 5-Star Hotels in Other Parts of Indonesia

If you are looking to explore more of Indonesia than just Bali, then this section is for you. Here are five other nice 5-star hotels around the country.

1. Katamaran Resort

The first two resorts in this list are found on the western part of Lombok, which is the island just to the east of Bali. The Katamaran Resort is found on the beach front of the Mangsit Beach.

The views from the resort are stunning, as you can look out into the ocean from much of the resort. And you can often see gorgeous sunsets from many of the rooms. When it’s clear, you can see all the way to Bali! At night, you can also take in the sounds of the ocean while gazing at the stars.

There are nine different room choices at the Katamaran, including suites and villas. The villas include their own private pool. Other rooms have ocean views and/or balconies. The ocean view is worth it!

The two main dining options are The Sail Restaurant and The Kliff Bistro. The food is good but a little pricey.

The Katamaran also offers other amenities like an infinity pool, a spa, a rooftop fitness center, and more. There’s a long list of activities the resort either offers or works closely with, which will allow you to try new things. For example, trekking, tours, tubing, waterfalls, yoga, cooking classes, and more.

If you love the ocean and are looking for a peaceful place to stay, this is it!

2. Sudamala Resort

Just a few hundred meters south of the Katamaran Resort is the lovely Sudamala Resort. This resort is also located right on the beach where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and ocean views. It’s also not far from some tourist destinations on the island such as the Krandangan National Park and Pura Batu Bolong Temple.

The hospitality here is incredible. The offer a shuttle to pick you up from the airport and are very welcoming when you arrive. The staff are all very accommodating.

The Sudamala offers three different types of suites and a villa, which includes your own personal pool. The Ocean and Sunset suites give you a breathtaking view of the ocean from your room. The Garden Suite either provides a private courtyard or balcony, depending on which level you’re on.

This resort also offers yoga, a spa, pool, and one restaurant, called Olah-Olah. The food is really tasty. They also provide a package for snorkeling.

If you and your spouse or family are looking to get away, relax, and enjoy a beautiful, quiet beach, then the Sudamala Resort is the place for you!

3. Royal Ambarrukmo

The next hotel takes us to the middle of the most populous island in Indonesia, Java. The city of Jogjakarta is in the southern portion of Central Java and is home to a lot of history, including several famous temples.

The Royal Ambarrukmo hotel is in the center of the city, within two miles of several tourist attractions. These include the zoo, Malioboro, the palace, and more.

When you walk into the hotel, you will immediately notice the beautiful architecture. It gives you a good taste of traditional Javanese culture.

There are two main types of rooms: regular rooms and suites. All the rooms are furnished with a balcony that either offers a view of the Royal Garden or Merapi volcano.

While there is only one primary restaurant in the hotel, there are several places to purchase food and drinks. There’s also a lounge and bar, deli, poolside lounge, and 24-hour room service.

One unique thing the Royal Ambarrukmo offers is what they call the Royal Moment. It’s a chance for guests to immerse themselves in royal traditions and rituals (the city is still ruled by a monarchy).

Further amenities include a fitness center and sauna, pool with waterslides, kids club and playground, business center, Royal Garden, and spa. You can also rent bicycles to travel around the city. If you’re ever on Java, this is one place to make sure to visit!

4. Jambuluwuk Resort in Batu

Located in East Java is a little city called Batu, which is just outside of Malang. Batu is up in the mountains and is a fantastic place to go when you want to escape the heat and the hustle and bustle of city life.

Even though Batu is smaller, it still has many fun things to do and is a popular place with tourists. There is a very nice zoo, a theme park called Jatim Park, and there are several waterfalls in the area.

Batu is a beautiful area, and the Jambuluwuk Resort allows you to enjoy its beauty. The hotel sits up on a hill and has wonderful wood and brick architecture.

The rooms in the hotel are very spacious, especially the villas. You have a choice between three types of rooms and six types of villas.

The facilities may be the best part of the resort. There is a large recreation center where you can play basketball, badminton, and other sports. There is also a large pool where you can swim and enjoy the view.

Other amenities include a children’s playground, fishing pond, ropes course, and sauna. There is only one primary restaurant for dining, but there is a lounge and bar if you’re interested. You’re sure to have a lot of fun here!

5. The Papandayan

Our final 5-star hotel in Indonesia takes us over to West Java, to the city of Bandung. Bandung is the fourth most populous city in Indonesia and is home to several tourist attractions including tea gardens, parks, and a zoo.

The Papandayan is in a central location and provides easy access to much of the city. But, the hotel is still very peaceful.

From the moment you walk in, the hotel exudes elegance and luxury. The staff are incredibly friendly, and you feel like royalty.

There are regular rooms and suites, and all the rooms are very nice and spacious. And the bathrooms are even fancy!

The Papandayan has many wonderful amenities. There’s a pool, jacuzzi, wellness spa, kid’s club, tropical garden, fitness center, sauna, chapel, and a music stage where you can either perform or just listen.

Another plus is that the food here is excellent! There are several great options for eating, including several restaurants and lounges. There is a buffet, and the breakfast is delicious!

This is one place you don’t want to miss if you’re in the area!
