Travel medical insurance for your trip to Israel
Jan called from Atlanta George, to our Good Neighbor Insurance office here in Gilbert, Arizona and asked about travel medical insurance to Israel.
My two questions are for my 8 friends and me. We are taking a 10-day tour to Israel and then we will spend a week on our own there in Israel this Fall.
Jan continued – What would be the best travel medical insurance coverage for (1) Those of us who are residing in the U.S. and traveling to Israel? (2) Our four non-U.S. resident friends joining us in Israel? One is from Singapore and our other friend is from Japan. Two of our other non-U.S. citizen friends are Canadians, residing in Canada.
Beth, one of GNI’s professional international insurance agents answered Jan. Jan, great questions. We have three different travel medical insurance options for you and your friends. Let’s take your first of these two questions – the best travel medical insurance option for U.S. residents traveling to Israel.
The Voyager Choice or the Voyager Essential are the best options for U.S. residents traveling to Israel.
Why we like the Voyager Choice and the Voyager Essential travel medical insurance – (a) There are no exclusions for injury or illness due to a terrorist event (b) Covers return flight home if a travel warning is issued (c) The value of the benefits in relation to the cost is unmatched! (d) The best international insurance company for direct billing to international hospitals
Who it is good for? Those traveling to high-risk countries. The Choice level covers the recurrence of pre-existing conditions. Seniors on Medicare who need to supplement their international coverage.
A really quick story to share with you, Jan, about this travel medical insurance option. A client touring Israel unfortunately tripped during a walking tour resulting in a trip to a local hospital where she then required knee surgery. Most international travel medical policies will require a patient to submit a claim to their U.S. insurance first before paying an international hospital. But the Voyager plans worked directly with her U.S. insurance company and the hospital in Israel to take care of her medical expenses. She was able to concentrate on healing!
To answer your second question, Jan, there are two answers for the best travel medical insurance for your non-U.S. citizens residing outside of the U.S. The BUPA travel medical insurance will work best.
Why we like the BUPA travel medical insurance? BUPA travel medical insurance has no monetary limit for medical expenses. Stable pre-existing conditions are covered for sudden recurrences. There is no deductible or coinsurance. Provides terrorism coverage to high-risk countries. You may add non-medical coverage such as trip cancelation to your policy.
