Navigator International Long-term Travel Health Insurance

family of 5 smiling

May 9, 2016 By : Administrator

family of 5 smilingNavigator international long-term travel health insurance is outright amazing global protection for individuals and families. This is top of the line international health and travel insurance that is best for the faith-based community: missionaries working with Nonprofits, NGOs, churches, mission organizations and more; for those who will have babies and adopt children; and long term and traveling missionaries. All of us here at Good Neighbor Insurance can recommend this excellent missionary insurance as a suitable option for almost any situation.

Why is Navigator international long-term travel health insurance such an amazing plan? It is designed to accommodate the health needs and potential emergencies for individuals and families as they travel and live as expatriates. Though, it is so flexible that it even covers you if you move back to your original home country for good! There are immediate Wellness benefits for health check-ups and Preventative Care with office visit co-pays for Primary Care Office Visits (deductible is waived). Coverage for new injuries and new illnesses is provided with an unlimited amount of coverage. Some examples of these medical expenses are Outpatient Services, Inpatient Hospital Services, and Ambulance Service. Medical Evacuation is included with a coverage limit of $250,000. Repatriation of Remains is covered to $25,000 and even Accidental Death and Dismemberment is included at $10,000. There is also coverage for Mental Health. As far as pre-existing conditions, I want to inform you a bit more about coverage pertaining to this below. Another important part I will talk about is the Maternity benefit.

As you can see above, the Navigator long-term international medical insurance is equipped and ready to serve you with wellbeing health benefits and for those emergencies that we hope never happen! They have a fantastic team that is prepared to facilitate and provide services for you as you are out serving around the world. I definitely want to continue to talking about the other reasons we like and recommend the Navigator international missionary insurance for the faith-based community!

Pre-existing conditions: Coverage for pre-existing conditions is often an essential subject when considering international health protection. A pre-existing condition is any medical condition that has previously been diagnosed or has shown symptoms in the past, and prior to the effective date of an insurance policy. On the Navigator, there is a 12 month waiting period in order to have any coverage for any pre-existing conditions. If you have had prior health insurance no more than 63 days prior to the effective date, you can actually show proof and waive some or all of the 12 month waiting period. This is extremely generous, as the company wants to be able to provide optimal coverage whenever they are able. If you are accepted, they do not issue exclusions during the application review, otherwise known as underwriting.

Maternity: On the Navigator long term missionary insurance, Maternity benefits are available as a rider to your policy, in other words, an additional benefit. There is a 12 month waiting period for Maternity to be available, although you do not have to invest in the Maternity rider until you need to after the first year! Also great is the fact that if you became pregnant in the first year, you can add the Maternity at your renewal (Maternity can only be added or taken off at any renewal). Maternity expenses will be covered as any other illness and there is no extra deductible. Whether you have or do not have maternity coverage, your newborn is automatically covered for the first 31 days following birth. To continue coverage past 31 days, they must be enrolled to your policy.

Adding your Newborn or Adopted child: Regardless if you have the Maternity rider or not, the following information is for you to know! When you want to add a newborn to your international medical benefits, you can simply apply for them in the first 31 days following birth. They will be automatically accepted with no review of health history. Likewise, if you adopt a child, you can add them in the first 31 days from adoption for automatic acceptance. Especially regarding adoption, this is an incredible opportunity. Many times during adoption, there may not be health history for the child, or they may not have been healthy in the past. This can cause many insurance companies to exclude certain conditions or deny coverage altogether for adopted children. The Navigator insurance is amazing because they provide this coverage for families to be covered together.

Worldwide coverage, Networks, and U.S. coverage: The Navigator long term international travel health insurance is global coverage; it covers you worldwide! There is no eligibility for the Navigator pertaining to being an expatriate for a minimum amount of time per year. For U.S. citizens and U.S. residents, coverage in the U.S. is unlimited after the first year. The only requirement in this regard is that you must be outside of the U.S. for at least three months of the first year. For U.S. residents and citizens, this is not an ACA compliant policy. Despite this fact, anyone on this is covered for all eligible expenses from any legitimate hospital.

Regarding networks, this plan uses Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. Whether in the U.S. or outside of the U.S., receiving medical treatment at a contracted “in-network” medical provider is recommended, if possible. If you are inside the U.S., you will have less of a coinsurance after the deductible. If you are outside the U.S., you have no coinsurance after the deductible, but you may have direct-billing. If there is not direct-billing for international providers, expenses are paid out of pocket, the claim must be submitted, and the company will reimburse for all eligible expenses after deductible.

Overall, the Navigator international medical insurance is exceptional for missionary health insurance overseas. It is a plan provided by an insurance company that we really appreciate.
